Your photo session

Sometimes booking a custom photography session can seem like a daunting task. I've simplified what most clients go through in a few easy steps, so you know exactly what to expect and when. Each of these steps are instrumental in getting photos you love.

Find the right photographer

There are a wide range of photographers out there, but the real challenge is finding one with a style you love. Each photographer will have their own vision and their own style of shooting. You will be able to get a good idea of how your own photo session will turn out by looking through a photographer's portfolio to get a better sense of their style. I encourage you to look through my portfolio on my website to make sure that we are a good fit.

Plan your photo session

Once you like my style, contact me! I will send you a detailed price list of the products I offer. We can chat about what you are looking for in a session and whether or not it is something I can help you with. If hit it off, we can figure out a time in both of our schedules for your custom photo session. As we get closer to the session date, I will spend a few hours planning your custom photography session. This involves a brief phone call to ask you some questions and to find out a little more about you and your family. From there, I set out to find the perfect location for what you are looking for, I help make wardrobe suggestions, and even plan different poses. I make sure everything is well thought out and to plan the littlest details so I get the shots that are most important to you during your shoot.

Show up, and have fun

A couple of days before the session I will email you to confirm our session and nail down an exact time. It is important that you show up on time to your session since I typically schedule the session around lighting conditions specific to the chosen location. The sun shifts quickly, especially during the mid to late afternoon and I want to allow ample time to get the photos that we need in the best light that we have. We typically chat a little while we walk to our shoot locations. This gives me a little bit of time to get to know your family better and make friends with the kids. One of my goals is to make sure everyone is relaxed and having a good time, a photo session is meant to be fun for everyone!

Hold the memories in your hands

After the session, I go through and make sure I only select the images that meet my high standards and hand edit them meticulously, as if they were my own family photos. This involves color correction, basic skin smoothening, and a few other editing techniques to make the photos really pop. This is a time consuming process and I aim to process all of the photos within one to two weeks of the shoot date. I assure you, I'm just as anxious as you are to see the finished product! Once the photos have been edited, I will email you a link to your password protected private online gallery. You may share this link with your friends and family. The gallery will be live for ten days, during which orders can be placed through the website. Photo products typically take about 2 weeks to arrive from the photo lab. I prefer to have the prints delivered straight to me so I can inspect the product. We can then schedule a time to meet so that I can hand deliver your items and make sure that you are 100% satisfied with your order.
